Taste of Asia, Canada’s largest Asian festival, is an annual event organized by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM) and Association of Progressive Muslims of Canada (APMC). Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti led the celebration of Markham’s Pan Am athletes: sprinter Andre De Grasse, double gold medal winner in 100 m and 200 m sprint; hurdler Sarah Wells who won silver medal in 400 m hurdles and was a part of bronze-medal Canada 4×400 m relay team; and Pan Am fencer Maxime Brinck-Croteau.
